Jammu, June 28: Electrical Engineering Department of Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with Institutions Innovation Council (IIC) concludes four days Faculty Development Programme on “Clean and Sustainable Energy”.
More than 80 faculty members from Tamil Nadu, Telangana, U.P, West Bengal, Punjab, Orissa, Rajasthan, Bihar etc. participated.
To meet the challenges posed by COVID-19 and minimize the impact of pandemic on academic activities Prof. ( Dr. ) A. K. Srivastava, Director, YCET conceived the idea of four days online Faculty Development Programme for sharing the best practices and capacity building of all faculty members across the country. This FDP programme was first of its kind and was conducted using Google Meet.
The introductory talk was given by Coordinator Er.Loveneesh Talwar and the technical support was provided by Coordinator Er. Robin Kumar.
On 25th June, 2020 the session was chaired by Dr. Praveen Kumar Lehna, Prof. and HOD ( Electronics Department ), University of Jammu. He addressed about Fuel Cell Technology, applications of Fuel Cells and had brief discussions on design and development of Hydrogen Fuel Cells for two wheeler, testing and strategies of Fuel Cells, water and thermal management in Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells, Hydrogen production and transportation.
On June 26, 2020 the session was chaired by Dr. Yatheshth Anand, Assistant Professor SMVDU, Katra. He addressed about Solar Energy and Refrigeration and had brief discussions on photovoltaic panel, variable speed compressor, an insulated enclosure and a thermal reservoir.
On June 27, 2020 the session was chaired by Er. Shafqat Nabi Mughal, HOD Electrical Engineering, SOET, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University, Rajouri, J&K. He addressed on Wind Energy and had brief discussions on use of wind power to generate electricity, transportation.
On 28th June, 2020 the session was chaired by Dr. A. Nazar Ali, Associate Prof., Electrical and Electronics Department., Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai. He addressed on Solar Connected Grid System and had brief discussions on grid connected photovoltaic system, grid connected PV system for generating solar PV power system, grid connected PV system consists of solar panels.
All the sessions were very interactive and useful.
