Yatin, Manish guide NCC to QFs in JKCA Premier C’ship

JAMMU/KATHUA, June 7: Brilliant bowling display by Yatin Saberwal and magnificent half-century by Manish Dogra guided National Cricket Club (NCC) to quarterfinals in the ongoing JKCA Premier Cricket Championship, being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at GGM Science College Hostel Ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, United Cricket Club Bishnah scored 151 runs in 30 overs by losing 9 wickets. Vishal top scored with unbeaten 47 runs off 29 balls, studded with 4 fours and 3 sixes, while Ravi and Aman contributed 30 and 21 runs to the total respectively. For NCC, Yatin was the pick of the bowlers, who scalped 4 important wickets by conceding 15 runs in his 6 overs, while Vijay Dogra and Tanmay Salathia took 2 wickets each.
NCC, in reply, chased the target in 25.2 overs by losing 5 wickets, thus won the match by 5 wickets. Manish Dogra top scored with 55 runs off 52 balls including 7 boundaries, while Aditya Partap Singh contributed valuable 42 runs off 47 balls with the help of 5 fours and Amrit Pal Singh chipped in with 18 off 18 balls. For United Cricket Club, Vinod took 4 wickets by conceding 28 runs in his 5.2 overs, while Danny, Aman, Rajay and Vijay shared 1 wicket each. Yatin Saberwal was decalred as the man of the match for his superb bowling display.
Meanwhile, at Sports Stadium Kathua, Kharote Cricket Club scripted a narrow win by 11 runs over Hiranagar Senior Cricket Club in Under-25 match of the JKCA Premier Cricket Championship.
Batting first, Kharote Cricket Club Kathua scored 170 runs in 29.2 overs. Vikas top scored with 42 runs, while Abhinandan and Raman contributed 24 and 18 runs to the total respectively. Amit Sharma and Mittu took 3 wickets each for Hiranagar Cricket Club, while Suresh, Manav and Vishwajeet claimed 1 wicket each.
In reply, Hiranagar Senior Cricket Club managed to score 159 runs in 29.1 over, thus lost the match by a narrow margin of 11 runs.Satnam Singh scored 50 runs, while Amit contributed 33 runs to the total. Arun and Raman took 3 wickets each, while Jatinder claimed 2 wickets for Kharote Cricket Club.
The Tournaments are being held under the patronage of JKCA Administrators namely Justice CK Prasad and Riffat Alam, while CEO JKCA AH Bukhari is the Chairman and the matches are being held under the overall supervision of retired Judge, Jang Bahadur Singh Jamwal, Member, Committee of Members JKCA.
