Yasir plots B1 collapse as B3 wins by virtue of 1st innings lead

JKCA’s Sr Men’s Multi-Day Tournament

JAMMU, Aug 6: Young medium pacer Yasir Gulzar plotted collapse of JKCA B1, taking 4 important wickets, thus helping JKCA B3 emerge victorious by virtue of first innings lead in the ongoing Senior Men’s Multi-Day Tournament at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium Sonawar, Srinagar today.
This ‘Cricket for Peace’ Tournament, is being organised by the Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at various venues across the Union Territory.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar, replying to JKCA B3’s total of 202 runs, resuming from an overnight total of 56/2, JKCA B1 bundled out for 163 runs in 55.5 overs in their first innings, thus conceding vital 39-run lead to B3. Jiyaad Magray top scored with 47 runs, while Nasir Lone contributed 38 runs and Suhail Sultan scored 22 runs.
For JKCA B3, Yasir Gulzar was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets by giving away 23 runs in 10.5 overs, while left-arm spinner Tehzeem Tak bagged 2 wickets and Umar Nazir claimed one.
JKCA B3 were 80/4 in 22 overs in their second innings at the close of play today. Shahnawaz Hussain (23) and Junaid Qazi (14) were the main contributors. For JKCA B1, Mujtaba Yousuf and Waseem Bashir claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, on day-1 yesterday, Ahmed Banday had scored magnificent 58 runs off 74 balls while Zaman Qayoom, Zaid Mohammad and Asif Khan had contributed 39, 38 and 30 runs to the total respectively.
For JKCA B1, Yasir Bhat was the pick of the bowlers who took 3 wickets by conceding 27 runs in his 9.3 overs, while Imtiyaz Ganie and Waseem Bashir bagged 2 wickets each.
The match was officiated by Hilal Mir and Faizan Fayaz as the Umpires, while Azmin Farooq and Umar Wani were the scorers.
