SRINAGAR, July 26: J&K Wushu Association organised two days selection trials wherein nearly 150 players are taking part at Gundun Stadium Rajbagh, here today.
Players from 12 districts including Jammu, Samba, Udhampur, Kathua, Baramulla, Srinagar, Pulwama, Ganderbal, Budgam, Kupwara Anantnag and Bandipore are participating in the selection trial.
For youth category, both boys and girls were shortlisted, while for senior men and women category, the trials will take place tomorrow at the same venue.
In youth category, the following players have been shortlisted for the final selection trials which are scheduled to be held at Meerut from August 21 to 22. The shortlisted players are Kaifa Shah from Srinagar in 52 kg, Ayera Chisti of Srinagar in 48 kg, Saleem Kumar of Budgam in 60 kg, Sheikh Amir of Anantnag in 48 kg and Musharaf Qayoom of Baramulla in 52 kg.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Wushu Association of India is organising selection trial for the Youth Asian Games-2021 and Asian Games-2022 at Khelo Indian Wushu Centre Meerut (UP) from August 21 to 22.
The J&K Wushu Association shall also organize coaching camp for best probable players after the trials at Srinagar from July 28 to August 15.
The trials are being conducting under the technical supervision of Kuldeep Handoo, Maqsood Rather, Nissar Ahmed Mir, Kamal Kishore, Aijaz Hussain, Owais Ahmed, Ramees Ahmed and Aijaz.
