Wushu C’ship witnesses intense Taolu action in Srinagar

SRINAGAR, May 7: The All India Inter-University Wushu Championship 2026 continued with high intensity on Day 3 and Day 4 at SK Indoor Sports Complex Srinagar, where strong performances were witnessed in Taolu events.
The Championship is being organised by the University of Kashmir through its Directorate of Physical Education and Sports (DPES) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities. The event features 12 weight categories in Men’s Sanda, 10 weight categories in Women’s Sanda, along with Taolu competitions.
Vice-Chancellor Nilofer Khan urged participants to compete with discipline and uphold sportsmanship. Observer Brij Kishore is overseeing the Championship on behalf of AIU.
In Wushu Taolu Single Women, Daisy Rabha (Bodoland University) won gold, Jeevitha Anna Georgy (University of Kerala) silver and Barsha Diya (Gautam Buddha University) bronze. In Changquan Men, Subhash (Panjab University) clinched gold, Thounganba Aheibam (Lovely Professional University) silver, and Leimapokpam Nelson Meitei bronze. In Changquan Women, Mercy Ngaimong (Rashtriya Raksha University) won gold, Yumlembam Echantombi Devi silver and Ankita bronze. In Daoshu Men, Subhash Tomar (Panjab University) secured gold, Jyotirmann Borah silver, and Thounganba Aheibam bronze.
