JAMMU, Mar 15: A meeting of members of J&K Wrestling Association was held under the chairmanship of its president, Dushyant Sharma to craft the Calendar of Activities for the year 2014.
The meeting also took decisions with regard to participation of J&K Wrestling team in the National Level Championships. The members also decided to conduct 19th Men and 5th Women State Wrestling Championship at Indoor Complex in M A Stadium Jammu on March 22 and 23, 2014.
All the district units of J&K Wrestling Association were directed to inform their respective wrestlers to participate in the J&K State Wrestling Championship on the said dates.
The meeting said that S M Sahai, ADGP Armed J&K Police will be the chief guest on the occasion of the opening ceremony, while Raman Bhalla, Minister for Housing, Horticulture, Culture and Youth Services and Sports J&K will be the chief guest on closing ceremony. Navin Aggarwal, Director General Youth Services and Sports and Daleep Thusu, Secretary J&K Sports Council will be the guests of Honour.
Prominent among the other members of the Association who attended the meeting were Krishan Pahalwan, Vijay Pahalwan, Narinder Mahajan, Satish Abrol, Raju Sharma, Ab Ahad Shah, Swaran Lal, Mohd Sadiq and Raj Kumar.
The vote of thanks was presented by Ajay Vaid, general secretary of the J&K Wrestling Association.
The wrestlers have been advised to report to NIS coaches Om Prakash, Deeraj Sharma and Ravinder Sharma for weighing and registration at 9 am on March 22.
