UDHAMPUR, Aug 31: Wrestler Babha of Jammu clinched the Annual Sankri Dangal title defeating wrestler Gopal of Jandhra in 5 minutes long bout at Sankri Devta Devsthan in Panchari, here today.
The Dangal was organized by Meer Dangal Committee in collaboration with District Police Udhampur and Department of Youth Services and Sports under the overall supervision of President Dangal Committee, Lashman Singh.
Winner Baba and runner-up Gopal wrestlers of the fired main bout were awarded with cash prize of Rs 6000 along with Pagri and Rs 4000 respectively by Tehsildar, Panchari Narinder Kumar and SHO Panchari, Sanjay Abrol.
The second bout between Salman of Udhampur and Vijay of Jammu ended in a tie while in third main bout wrestler Billu of Kot Bhalwal defeated Anwar of Akhnoor.
Around 100 wrestlers from Udhampur, Reasi and Jammu districts participated in the one day long wrestling event.
Students of different government institutions also participated in the wrestling competition on the occasion.
