KATRA, May 7: Young Wrestler Ashok Singh, a student of 10th class, who has the distinction of winning gold medal in Khelo India Games last season, was honoured for his achievements in an awareness programme held at Govt High School, Ser Sundwan, here.
He was felicitated by Shiv Kumar Sharma, President J&K Indian style Wrestling Association in the presence of a galaxy of dignitaries.
Earlier, Headmaster of the School, Dhani Ram presented welcome address.
The awareness programme was mainly focused on the sports activities and their scope in the society.
The young Wrestler was presented a Mata Ki Chunni and a cash prize of Rs 1000.
Mubarak Singh, retired lecturer was also present on the occasion.
