Workshop on ‘Implementing NEP at Foundation Years’ organized

JAMMU, Mar 16: Delhi Public School Jammu (DPSJ) organized a two-day workshop on ‘Implementing NEP at Foundational Years’ for the teachers of pre-primary and primary wings in the School premises, here.
The resource person was Dr. Gurmeet Kaur Gill, a noted author, profound speaker who has presented various research papers on education and received various awards on different national and international platforms.
The workshop was attended by 55 teachers of class pre-nursery to II. The National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage (NCFFS) published in 2022 by NCERT has been developed based on the vision of the NEP 2020.
The foundational stage refers to children in the age group of 3 to 8 years, across the entire range of diverse institutions in India to reinforce the importance of adopting appropriate pedagogy and building a positive relationship between students and teachers.
The Day-1 of the workshop focused on key principles of NEP, teacher as a researcher, revised bloom’s taxonomy and NEP 2020, catering to diverse learning needs, FLN, NIPUN Bharat, leveraging technology, while the Day-2 covered the topics such as developing effective curriculum, domains of curricular goals, effective teaching & classroom management strategies, transforming the culture of assessments and 360 degree outcomes.
The workshop empowered and enlightened the teachers on contextualizing content for teaching and creating a supportive eco-system for successfully implementing NCFFS based on the vision of NEP 2020. They also learnt methods of building individual potential while taking utmost care of their own physical and mental well-being.
Coordinator, pre-primary wing- Preeti Abrol delivered the vote of thanks and also felicitated the resource person with a memento of gratitude and appreciation. She said that there is a need to reskill and upskill ourselves as teachers and keep ourselves well informed to be able to implement all the changes that have been brought about by the New Education Policy.
Principal DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chhabra and Headmistress, Meenu Gupta welcomed the resource person with a potted plant symbolic of growth and prosperity.
