JAMMU, Mar 3: Under the Staff Development Programme at Jodhamal, a Workshop on Bloom’s Taxonomy was conducted by the Principal Trilok Singh Bist in the Edulive Hall of the School, here.
Around 60 teachers participated in this Workshop in which Dr Benjamin Bloom’s six levels of learning were discussed in a very interesting manner.
Each teacher participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.
The session started with a Power Point Presentation prepared specially for the requirement of the School keeping in mind the six levels of Learning according to Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Dr Bloom being a teacher, thinker and inventor put his thinking in the form of Bloom’s Taxonomy which is taught to each trainee teacher during BEd but with passage of time the reinforcement is the only key to get the student’s the benefit of the best learning levels.
Knowledge, Comprehension, Application, Analysis, Synthesis and Evaluation were the six levels of Bloom but nowadays these levels are called by Remembering, Understanding, Applying, Analyzing, Creating and Evaluating.
The story of Goldilocks was shown to the teachers as a video and then the teachers were asked  to enact the same in their own language be it Hindi, English , Punjabi or Dogri.
While narrating the story in their own words the teachers had used all six levels of learning and each level was discussed at length. The best presentation was given by Bandana Sharma, Neha Sharma and Jagmeet Kaur on the story Goldilocks. Questions were framed as sample on all six levels so that teachers can also use the same methodology in the classroom situation.
In the application part the groups were asked to make a model of the swing set with paper and explain how it works and also the map from Goldilocks House to the Bear House through the Forest. In the analysis tips were given as to how to see patterns, identify the components and recognize the hidden meaning.
