JAMMU, Jan 22: WCC Srinagar and Game Changers sailed into semi-finals by defeating Chanpora CC by 52 runs and ASCC by seven wickets respectively in the ongoing CL Chrangoo Memorial Cricket Tournament, being played at Country Cricket Ground Amb Gharota, here today.
The first quarterfinal match was played between WCC Srinagar and Chanpora CC wherein former emerged winners by 52 runs.
Batting first Chanpora CC scored 132 runs by losing eight wickets in stipulated 20 overs wherein Aaqib made 30 runs whereas Adil scored 33 runs and Vineet Raina and Zahid contributed 11 runs each. From bowling side, Gowhar and Umar took two wickets each, whereas Ishfaq, Ajmal and Suhail bagged one wicket each.
In reply, WCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at 80 runs in 17.3 overs. Umar and Aadil Khan contributed 15 and 11 runs respectively. From bowling side, Junaid took three wickets, Rouf and Ashiq bagged two wickets each and Zahid, Aaqib and Mehraj secured one wicket each. Aaqib Khan was declared as man of the match.
In second match, ASCC won the toss and decided to bat first. ASCC made 111 runs by losing all wickets. Asif made 28 runs, whereas Danish, Asif and Wahid contributed 25, 22 and 10 runs respectively. From bowling side, Sanchit took four wickets, Ankaj bagged two wickets and Jatinder and Govind clinched one wicket each.
In reply, the Game Changers easily chased the target by losing only three wickets with four balls left from the stipulated 20 overs and won the match by seven wickets. Kanav made highest 42 runs while Ankush scored 41 runs. From bowling side, Asif Rasool, Asif Manzoor and Mehram bagged one wicket each. Sanchit Dass was declared as man of the match.
