WB expedition team sets out on an epic journey to conquer Mt Brammah-1

Kishtwar, July 12: The West Bengal Sonarpur Arohi Club, comprising a team of 12 skilled climbers, including renowned mountaineers Rudra Prasad Halder and Satyarup Siddhanta has arrived in the Kishtwar region with the ambitious goal of summiting mountain Brammah-1.
The mountain, standing at a formidable height of 6416 meters, has witnessed only four successful ascents in its history, with the last one occurring 43 years ago in 1980.
The expedition team consisting of a diverse mix of experienced and junior climbers joined by six Sherpa to assist in the challenging expedition are such as Rudra Prasad Halder (leader), Partha Sarathi Layek (Deputy Leader), Satyarup Siddhanta (Team Manager), Rudra Prasad Chakraborty (Equipment in charge), Avik Mondal (QuarterMaster), Naitik Naskar (Assistant Equipment Incharge), Debasish Majumder (Member), Joydeep Halder (Member), Uddipan (Team Doctor), Tuhin Bhattacharya (Member), Asim Dutta (Assistant Quartermaster), Chayan Chatterjee (Base Camp Manager) besides Sherpa team included Phursemba Sherpa, Nurbu Sherpa,  Janga Bahadur Rai, Pass Dukya Sherpa, Dawa Nurbu Sherpa , Tenzing Sherpa , Cook Beij Nath Thakur (Kibber Dachhan).
The local team, consisting of Ravinder Singh Thakur, Bhanu Badyal, Rajesh Thakur, and Avleen Bhutiyal has been making a remarkable difference by accompanying the climbers and providing essential support.
The base camp, strategically established at an altitude of 4170 meters at the foot hills of mountain Brammah, has been meticulously set up despite heavy rainfall.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Dr Devansh Yadav and Assistant Development Commissioner (ADC), Kishtwar Inderjeet Singh Parihar has extended unconditional support on behalf of the local administration to ensure a hassle-free journey for the climbers.   Dr Devansh Yadav has assured rescue support if required during the expedition by the Army.
