JAMMU, Apr 22: Today opening ceremony of Volley Ball tournament was held at Boys Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor in memory of Shaheed Dy.SP Gulbadan Singh Bhau organised by Range Police Hqrs Jammu under Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2016-17 and inaugurated by Ashkoor Ahmed Wani DIG Range Jammu. The objective of organizing this tournament is to inspire youth of the area about sports talent and also keep them away from evil designs.
On this occasion SSP Jammu Shri Sunil Gupta-IPS, Commanding officer 10th INF DIV Signal Shri Arundeep Singh, Sh. Rajnish Pran, SSP SO to DIG JSK Range, Sh. Arun Gupta, ASP Rural, Sh. Gurinder Pal Singh-IPS SDPO Akhnoor besides senior officers of BSF and all SHOs of Sub-division Akhnoor alongwith prominent citizens of civil society were present at the occasion. That during the initial match Pallanwalla Volley Ball Club defeated Volley Club Dehrian in straight matches 2-0 (25-13, 28-12). The second match won by Kameshwar Volleyball Club defeating Volleyball club Jourian in a tight fight with scores 24-26, 27-25 and 16-14.
The third match was won by volleyball Club Dhannu defeating volleyball Club Bhagani in straight matches with scores 25-23, 25-21. The fourth match was played between volleyball club chowki choura and Volleyball Club GDC Akhnoor which was won by Chowki Choura with scores 25-18, 22-25 and 15-12. The final match of the day was won by Kameshwar Club defeating Bhalwal Club with 25-16, 25-12 scores.
