JAMMU, Dec 29: Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur, Morh Jammu organized ‘S N Ganjoo Memorial Award Ceremony in the school auditorium, here today.
The event was organized by the Management Committee Members of Vishwa Bharati Women’s Welfare Institution in the memory of founder member, Som Nath Ganjoo.
AK Bhat, president Vishwa Bharati Women’s Welfare Institution was the chief guest on the occasion, while all other members of the Managing Committee were present. BL Saraf, Former Session Judge, KK Khosa, president Kashmiri Pandit Sabha and Rajroop Singh, Sarpanch Muthi, were present on the occasion..
The programme started with floral tibute, which was followed by ‘Saraswati Vandana; followed by “Welcome Address” by the school Principal Prof. Annapurna Koul.
President Vishwa Bharati Women’s Welfare Institution gave away the certificates of excellence and blessed the students with her valuable speech.
The first prize comprising of Rs. 5,000 cash and a certificate of excellence was awarded to Himakshi Sharma. Certificate of excellence was also given to academic toppers namely Ankita Raina and Ayushi Saproo. Cultural items including dances and songs were presented by the students on the stage during ceremonial function.
Students, who excelled in the activities held during the year 2015-16 were also awarded by the members of management.
JL Koul, vice-president Vishwa Bharati Women’s Welfare Institution addressed the august gathering present in the auditorium and highlighted the contribution made by the founder member, S.N Ganjoo.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks presented by Dr SK Koul, Secretary Vishwa Bharati Public School, while Anita Sharma from Department of Sanskrit and Amisha Nehru, student of Class 11th conducted the proceedings of the programme.
