Vinod guides Little Flower School Akhnoor to crush FCC, registers berth in semis

JAMMU, June 26: Magnificent 60 runs off 38 balls guided Little Flower School (LFS), Akhnoor to crush Friends Cricket Club (FCC) Bhalwal by 33 runs and to register berth in the semis of the ongoing 8th Pawan Memorial Cricket Tourney, being organized by Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor and AYC Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School, Akhnoor.
Electing to bat first after winning the toss, Little Flower School, Akhnoor made a magnificent total of 178 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in allotted 20 overs. Vinod smashed some crispy shots and chipped in 60 runs off 38 balls while Gourav made 27 runs off 23 balls, Akarsh scored 23 runs in 16 balls and Deepak scored 19 runs in 17 balls.
From FCC side, Jatinder bowled well and took 2 wickets while Vikram, Ajay, Rakesh and Vickey took one wicket each.
In the second inning, FCC failed to chase the target and bundled out at 145 runs in allotted 20 overs. Jonu played a splendid inning of 45 runs in 25 balls, while Nannu and Ajay scored 22 and 17 runs, respectively.
From LFS side, Pankaj, Parveen and Rajinder scalped 2 wickets each while Vinod, Sunil, Deepak and Pinka shared one wicket each.
Vinod was adjudged as Man of the Match for his all round performance.
The match was officiated by Dayal Singh and Vikas Bali as umpires, while Ashwani Mangotra acted as scorer.
The tournament is being organized under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, president, Singh Cricket Club (SCC) Akhnoor.
