JAMMU, May 30: Vikas Karlopia, Tarsem Singh and Ameet Targotra blossomed in the Jammu University’s Teachers, Officers Men and Women Tournament in the disciplines of badminton, table tennis and carrom, which concluded at University’s Gymnasium Hall, here today.
In badminton men’s singles final, Vikas Karlopia drubbed Akash Bhola by 2-1 (9-21, 21-14,11-21), while in doubles final, Sandeep Arya and Tarsem Singh outplayed Akash Bhola and Daud Iqbal Baba by 2-0 (21-14, 21-15).
In table tennis men’s singles final, Tarsem Singh defeated Rakesh Vaid by 2-0 (11-09. 11-06), while in doubles, Prof PVKS Baba and Dr. Rakesh Vaid trounced Dr Sushil Sharma and Akash Bhola by 2-0 (11-07, 11-06), while in Carrom men’s final, Ameet Targotra got better of Raj Kumar Bakshi in a tough contest.
The Tournament was organized by the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, under the overall supervision of Prof Dhian S. Bhau, Chairman Campus Sports Committee, University of Jammu.
The matches were officiated by Neesha Sharma, Ravish Vaid and Gagan Kumar.
