AKHNOOR, Nov 12: Vijayanta Cricket Club defeated Friends Cricket Club Akhnoor by 40 runs to advance into the next round of the ongoing 7th Pawan Memorial T20 Cricket Tournament, being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor at Government Higher Secondary School ground, here.
Batting first, Vijayanta Club scored a decent total of 149 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Sahil Mishra top scored with 35 runs, while Deepak Sharma and Amit contributed 22 and 19 runs to the total respectively. For Friends Cricket Club, Akhnoor, Pardeep and JP took 3 wickets each, while Vicky bagged 2 wickets and Amit Singh one.
FCC, in reply, bundled out for 109 runs to lose the match by 40 runs. None of the FCC batsmen could manage notable contribution. Deepak took 2 wickets for Vijayanta Club, while Ajay and Jimmy claimed one wicket each. Deepak Sharma was declared man of the match.
The match was officiated by Vikas Bali and Rajinder Sharma as umpires, while Ashwani maintained the scorebook.
The Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh, president, Singh Cricket Club, Akhnoor.
