JAMMU, Dec, 21: Trouncing Young Param FC by 5-4 in tie-breaker, Vijay Club won the title trophy of the 5th Christmas Soccer Championship, organized by Christian Sports Organization in collaboration with J&K Football Association at Parade ground, here.
The Additional Director General of Police Security Headquarters J&K, Dilbag Singh was the chief guest on the valedictory function, while Jung Bahadur, Member SHRC; SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Kumar; Ranjeet Kalra, Vice Chairman Jammu Sports Council; Bushan Dogra, Vice Chairman SC Advisory Board and Ranjeet Singh, Secretary JMC were the guests of honour, while SP City Jammu Dr. Vinod Kumar, CPO Vikrant Sharma, Surinder Bunty, Vice President Jammu Football Association, Mohan Lal, Secretary JKFA ,SM Gill, Ex.MLC, Vikas Bhatti, Vikas Sharma, Sr. Manager Federal Bank, Palki Anand, Manager South Indian Bank and Manager Canara Bank were also presnt on the occasion.
The ADGP distributed the trophies and awards in an impressive, colourful and festive atmosphere.
Prominent among others who present on the occasion are Vinod Kumar SP City, Vivek Shekhar DY.SP City, Vivek Gupta (ASM) Huawei, Ragav Talwar (TSM) Huawei, Asif Gill, Inspector Shakti, Victor Sotra, William Mattoo, Sunny Gill, Bharat Bhushan, Satpal Coach, Coach Ranjeet Singh, Yousuf Don, Ramesh Chander, Daniel Masih, David Burat and Sardari Lal.
While speaking on the Occasion ADGP conveyed his Christmas wishes to the sportspersons and the Christian Community in advance.
He said sports and games apart from helping youth not to derail from the mainstream, serve for delight, for ornament and for agility, adding that sports inculcates spirit and discipline, besides help in quick decision in making.
The ADGP assures all support from Police Department to the Christian Sports Organization for conducting Sports events for the youths of the State.
Earlier, Rajesh Gill Chief Prosecuting Officer and the Coordinator of the event presented welcome address and gave brief report of the Championship. He said that Christian Sports Organization is regularly conducting sports events in collaboration with Police Department for the students and youths of the state.
Meanwhile, in the final match, Vijay Club defeated Param FC by 5-4 goals vie tie-breaker and clinched the title trophy of the Championship with a cash prize of Rs.20,0000, The runners-team received a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and a trophy, while Kanwal Sports Anantnag Football Club received best disciplined team trophy.
The main Sponsors of the championship are Federal Bank, South Indian Bank and Canara Bank whereas the Co-Sponsors includes M/S TryMe Readymade Garments, E-going Business Resolutions, Punjabi Brothers and Honor powered by Huawei .
The officiating members of the final match were Suresh Gupta, Vijay Kumar, Dheeraj Mania and Ricky Kumar, while the organizing secretaries of the Championship were Asif Gill and Yousuf Don and Rajesh Gill was the Coordinator of the Championship.
The proceedings of the valedictory function were conducted by Rajesh Dhar and Victor Sotra.
