1st ABVM Footbal Tournament

JAMMU, Feb 12: Vijay Club and J&K Bank XI won their respective pre quarter final matches today during the 1st Atal Bihari Vajpayee Memorial (ABVM) Football Tournament.
The Tournament is being organized by Shaheen Football Club under the aegis of J&K Football Association (DFA Jammu) at GGM Science College Football Ground, here.
The first match of the day was played between Vijay Club and Katra Football Club and it was won by Vijay Club by 2-0. For Vijay Club, 1 goal each was scored by Dushyant and Rohit.
The second match of the day was played between J&K Bank XI and FC United Kathua. It was won by J&K Bank XI by 4-0. For J&K Bank XI, 1 goal each was scored by Adnan, Aqif and Shahid while the fourth goal was netted by FC United Kathua (own goal).
Engineer Hilal Ahmed Shah (Chairman, Municipal Council, Anantnag) was the chief guest on the occasion. He was accompanied by Shokat Khanyari, Rakesh Kumar (International player), Kamaljeet Kumar (International player), Rajinder Abrol, Peter Sandhu, Client Mattoo, Amarjeet Singh and Ramesh Chander (Organizing Secretary and International player).
Referees of the matches were Rahul Sharma, Aman, Ramesh, Dheeraj Meenia, Aman Sudan, Satnam Singh and Dil Bahadur.
Tomorrow, Sainik Colony FC will lock horns with Baba FC at 3 PM, at the same venue.
