Vidarbha thrashes J&K by 103 runs

JAMMU, Jan 24: Riding on magnificent batting display by opening batswomen LM inamdar and superb bowling show by GS Wankar, formidable Vidarbha defeated Jammu and Kashmir by a big margin of 103 runs in the Women’s Cricket Under-23 Tournament, being played at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot.
Earlier, batting first, Vidarbha scored a good total of 163 runs in the stipulated 20 overs, losing 6 wickets in the process. LM Inamdar top scored with 77 runs, while RA More and SW Dharne contributed 24 and 16 runs to the total respectively. For J&K, Heena Kouser took 3 important wickets, while Sadiya Wani bagged 2 wickets. Skipper Nadia Chowdhary and Rudrakshi Chib claimed one wicket each.
In reply, J&K managed to score 60 runs in 20 overs by losing 9 wickets, thus lost the match by a big margin of 103 runs. Bismah Hassan scored 16 runs, while Sonika and Rudrakshi contributed 15 runs each. GS Wankar was the pick of the bowlers from Vidarbha who took 4 important wickets, while Vaibhavi Sonwane took 2 wickets. MS Bodkhe and Vaishnavi Khandkar claimed 1 wicket each.
Vidarbha earned 4 points with this win, while J&K failed to secure any point.
