Vicky-XI thrashes SPJ by 5 wkts, sails into semi-finals

KATHUA, Jan 2:  Vicky-XI Pathankot thrashed SPJ Gurugram by 5 wickets in the ongoing 10th Police Martyr’s Memorial T-20 Cricket Championship, organized by District Police at Sports Stadium, here today.
With this win, the Vicky XI Pathankot has reached into the semi-finals round of the ongoing tournament which is being played on knockout basis.
The first quarter-final match was played  between Vicky XI Pathankot and SPJ Gurugram in which Vicky XI Pathankot  won the toss and elected to field first.
Batting first, SPJ Gurugram gave a target of 102 runs in the stipulated 20 overs with the loss of 8 wickets in the process. Rahul Rathi scored 25 runs off 40 balls.
In reply, Vicky XI Pathankot easily chased the target in 18.2 overs by losing 5 wickets and registered 5 wicket win over their opponents. Rahul Sharma  was the main scorer of the team who scored 23runs in 25 balls with the help of 2 crispy boundaries , while Kunwar scored 21 runs.
Rahul Sharma was declared as man of the match for his outstanding performance.
