9th Police Martyrs Memorial NZ T20 C’ship

KATHUA, Feb 27: Vicky XI Pathankot and Haryana Cricket Academy registered resounding victories over their rivals in the ongoing 9th Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone T-20 Cricket Championship, being played at Sports Stadium, here.
In the first match of the day, Vicky XI Pathankot defeated Amritsar Warriors in an easy contest by 8 wickets.
Earlier, put into bat, Amritsar Warriors bundled out for a paltry total of 71 runs in 17 overs.
In reply, Vicky XI Pathankot chased the target by losing 2 wickets in just 13.4 overs, thus won the match by 8 wickets. Pardeep was declared as the man of the match for his brilliant bowling display. He took 4 important wickets.
In another match, Haryana Cricket drubbed GSI Tigers Club Srinagar in a close contest.
Haryana Cricket Club won the toss and chose to bat first. Haryana Cricket Club set a target of 155 runs in 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Kuldeep top scored with 38 runs off just 26 deliveries with help of 3 fours and 2 sixes.
GSI Tigers in reply, failed to chase the target despite Faisal’s 55 off 57 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 massive sixes. Harshit took 4 wickets in his 4 overs, which fetched him man of the match award.
