Police Martyr Memorial Cricket C’ship

KATHUA, Jan 8: Vickey-XI Pathankot and LB Shastri Delhi registered wins against their opponents and sailed into the semis of the 9th Police Martyr Memorial Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship at sports stadium, here today.
In the first quarterfinal match, Vickey-XI Pathankot defeated Bhalla Cricket Club Pathankot by 5 wickets and registered berth in the semis.
Batting first, Bhalla Cricket Club scored 96 runs in 19.5 overs. Vickey XI Pathankot easily chased the target in 17.5 overs by loosing just 5 wickets.
Rahul Sharma was declared as Man of the Match who clinched 4 wickets and also made 13 runs.
In the second quarterfinal match, LB Shastri Delhi outplayed Horizon Jammu.
Batting first after winning the toss, Horizon Jammu set a target of 109 runs in 19.4 overs, which LB Shastri Delhi easily chased in just 13 overs.
Dheeru of LB Shastri Delhi was adjudged as Man of the Match for his brilliant performance of 61 runs in 43 balls with the help of 6 boundaries and 3 sixes.
It is pertinent to mention here that District Police Kathua under the supervision of SSP Dr Shailendra Mishra inaugurated 9th Police Martyr’s Memorial Inter Club T-20 Cricket Championship 2019-20 in the month of February 2020, which was halted in the month of March 2020 in the wake of Global pandemic of COVID-19. The Championship was resumed today.09
