JAMMU, Nov 19: Outplaying their rivals convincingly in their respective matches, Vridhi Cricket Club (VCC) will lock horns with Horizon Club in finals of the ongoing 8th Eid-Diwali Milan Cricket Championship, being organised by members of ICA in association with KC Sports Club at KC Sports Ground, here today.
In first, semi-final match, the VCC defeated KC Sports Cricket Club by 4 wickets.
Batting first KC Sports Cricket Club scored 99 runs by losing all wickets in 17.3 overs. Bandeep Singh made 24 runs while Puneet and Sahil contributed 19 and 14 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Gourav took 4 wickets while Archit bagged 2 wickets and Sachin, Snoop, Parth and Sannat took one wicket each.
In reply, Vridhi Royals chased the target in 17.3 overs by losing only 6 wickets, thus won the match by 4 wickets. Anshul scored 30 runs while Sanoop and Smarpit made 22 and 21 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Aqib took 3 wickets while Aryan, Akash and Tanmay took 1 wicket each. Gourav was declared as man of the match for his excellent bowling.
In another match, Horizon Club defeated Samar Cricket Club by 3 wickets.
Batting first, Samar Cricket Club made 117 runs by losing 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Vishvajeet Singh made 28 runs, Manjeet Chib scored 22 and Bhanu 17 made runs. From the bowling side, Vivek took 4 wickets while Sukha clinched 3wickets and Paras took 2 wickets.
Horizon Cricket Club chased the target by losing only 5 wickets in 13.4 overs. Jatin made 25 runs, Akshit scored 20 runs and Santbaksh contributed 13 runs. From the bowling side, Dhruv Mahajan, Manjeet, Dhruv Parmar, Satish and Sameer took one wicket each. Vivant was adjudged as man of the match.
The matches were officiated by Ashok Kumar, JD Singh, Vijay Dhar, Sabastian and Sanju.
