JAMMU, Dec 26: The Veteran Cricket Association J&K XI triumphed over Shaheed Bhagat Singh Cricket Club (SBSCC) by 8 wickets in the opening match of the KCSC Veteran Cup T20 Night Cricket Tournament at KC Sports Ground.
SBSCC, after winning the toss, set a target of 151 runs in 20 overs. Bhanu Gupta top-scored with 50 runs, while Zeeshan contributed 22 runs. The bowlers of VCA J&K XI, led by Shakoor (3 wickets), restricted SBSCC’s progress.
In reply, VCA J&K XI chased the target easily in just 14 overs, losing 2 wickets. Openers Amit Kumar (50*) and Jameel (70) played brilliant knocks. Nitin Sharma and Zahid took one wicket each for SBSCC. Jameel was named as Man of the Match for his explosive performance.
