JAMMU, Nov 13: To create awareness regarding the safety of women and to provide them a safe environment, NSS and NCC wing of Jamia Millian Islamia has organised a Cycle Rally from Srinagar to New Delhi.
The rally which started from Srinagar was today flagged off from Jammu by Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu in a simple but well attend function.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Ishar said that it is a matter of great pride that the students through this Cycle Rally will sensitize and create awareness among people about the crimes against women.
A team of 37 people comprising of 25 students from Jamia Millia Islamia are participating in the rally and it will pass through Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
The rally commenced from Srinagar and will culminate at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof Jasbir Singh, chairman, NSS, Dr Vishvaraksha, Coordinator, NSS and Jaikumar Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor.
