Vanshaj shines again with 6-wicket haul, Baroda bundled out for 176

JAMMU, Aug 22: J&K’s rising left-arm spinner Vanshaj Sharma delivered yet another match-defining performance, claiming 6 wickets for 65 runs in 27.4 overs, as Baroda were bundled out for 176 runs in their first innings of the Bucchi Babu Invitation Cricket Tournament, organized by Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) at T1 Murugappa Ground, Chennai.
Earlier, Sunil Kumar struck early, dismissing both openers. Abdul Samad also chipped in with 2 wickets. Baroda’s Sukirt Pandey top-scored with 54, while Parth Kohli and Akshay More added 26 and 25 respectively. In reply, J&K were 48/1 at stumps on Day-1, with Qamran Iqbal (17) and Musaif Ajaz (02) at the crease.
JKCA Member Administration Brig. Anil Gupta praised Vanshaj’s brilliance, calling it a “fantastic display of accurate spin bowling.” Mithun Manhas, Member Cricket Operations, commended the team, stressing the importance of consistency.
