JAMMU, Sept 9: Ace Fencer of the Jammu and Kashmir Vansh Mahajan is all set to participate in the Thailand Open Fencing Championship to be held at Bangkok from September 16 to 20.
During the send-off ceremony, Kavinder Gupta, Speaker, J&K Legislative Assembly was the chief guest, while Vijay Sharma, Patron, J&K Amateur Fencing Association, Coach Shotu Lal, International Fencer Rashid Choudhary, Ujjwal Gupta, Ajay Khartol, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Joint Secretary, J&K State Sports Council and Rajan Sharma, Divisional Sports Officer, J&K State Sports Council were also present.
While speaking, Speaker said Ace Fencer Vansh Mahajan had already represented India in Junior and Cadet Commonwealth Fencing Championship at Cape Town, South Africa last year. He had also won medals in different competitions.
Speaker announced Rs 1.50 lakh for fencing sports kit for Vansh Mahajan from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He also assured full support to him in future also.
Kavinder Gupta hoped that Vansh Mahajan will definitely win the hearts of his well wishers, friends and followers with his behaviour during the Championship and also brings laurel to State and Country as well.
