Uttarakhand, Maharashtra, Jharkhand dominate Day-4 of 69th NSG

JAMMU, Nov 18: The 69th National School Games U-19 Girls Taekwondo Championship continued to showcase exceptional sporting talent as intense contests on Day 4 kept spectators enthralled at the Indoor Sports Complex, Bhagwati Nagar.
Competitors from Uttarakhand, Haryana, Jharkhand and Maharashtra dominated the medal tally, securing gold medals in several weight categories.
In an impressive display of skill, Soumya Aikat of Jharkhand won the Gold Medal in the U-19 Girls -44 KG category, followed by Nitya Yadav of KVS, who claimed Silver. Bronze medals were shared by Anshika of Himachal Pradesh and Pathuraju of Andhra Pradesh. In the -52 KG category, Ashwani Nitesh Sonawane of Maharashtra clinched Gold, while Gunja Dangwal of KVS bagged Silver. Anchana Bubeesh of Karnataka and Smriti Basumatray secured Bronze.
Outstanding performances also came from Sneha of Uttarakhand in the -46 KG category, Abreena Altaf of Jammu and Kashmir in the -59 KG category, and Pooja of Haryana in the +68 KG category, each securing Gold in their respective finals held last evening.
The medal ceremony was presided over by Dr. S.M. Bali, former Secretary General of the Handball Federation of India, who presented medals alongside DYSSO Jammu Sukhdev Raj Sharma, Head Coach of J&K Taekwondo team Atul Pangotra, and other dignitaries. Though J&K athletes fought valiantly, they missed podium finishes on Day 4.
