SRINAGAR, Jan 31: The Junior Union Territory and Sub-Junior Ski and Snowboarding Championship concluded at Gulmarg, here today.
After holding Districts and Regional championships the Winter Games Association of J&K conducted this Junior UT championship which began on January 28 wherein about400 boys and girls of different age categories took part.
In Alpine Ski Slalom (boys U-21), Ayan Zargar, Sheikh Sajid Razas and Shakeel Chouhan bagged first three positions respectively, whereas in Slalom (girls) Haya Muzaffar, Syeda Asfah and Muskaan Lateef clinched top three places respectively and in Giant Slalom (boys), Ayan Zargar, Zamin Rashid and Shakeel Chouhan succeeded to win 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively.
In Giant Slalom (girls), Haya Muzaffar, Syedah Asfah and Muskaan Lateef won 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively, while in Slalom boys (U-18), Shoib Rashid, Azhar Fayaz and Tafeem Rauf clinched top three positions respectively and in Slalom girls, Malaika Gul Dev, Sarah Ayjaz and Aiman Malik bagged top three positions respectively.
In Giant Slalom (boys), Shoib Rashid, Azhar Fayaz and Mahmid Baba clinched 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively, whereas in Giant Slalom (girls), Malaika Gul Dev, Aiman Malik and Sarah Ayjaz succeeded to win first three positions respectively and in Giant Slalom boys (U-16), Faizan Ahmad Lone, Syed Zain and Huzaif Manzoor secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.
In Giant Slalom (girls), first three positions were clinched by Ridah Altaf, Jaza Ahmad and Warda respectively, whereas in Giant Slalom boys (U-14), Musadiq Mushataq, Danish Mehmood and Mohd Essa Anim secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions respectively and in Giant Slalom (girls), Ayza Noor, Haziqa Farooq and Muzaina Tahir secured first three positions, besides in Snowboarding Slalom boys (U-21), 1st, 2nd and 3rd places were won by Tajamal Dar, Naveed Ahmad Malik and Waseem Ahmad Lone respectively and in Snowboarding Giant Slalom (boys), Tajamal Dar, Waseem Ahmad Lone and Asif Shabir bagged top three positions respectively.
Deputy Commandant HAWS Brig Rajeev Kumar was the chief guest on the closing function, who distributed the medals among the winners, while Javed ul Rehman, Asstt Director Tourism was guest of honour.
