UT level Judo C’ship concludes

JAMMU, Mar 31: Three days J&K UT level Judo Championship, organized by Judo Association of Jammu & Kashmir under the aegis of J&K Olympic Association and sponsored by J&K Sports Council, concluded at MA Stadium, here today.
About 500 judokas from all over the districts participated in the championship.
In sub junior boys under-15 yrs (50 kg), Hitesh Mehra and Umkeshwar stood 1st and 2nd while Saksham Sharma and Irshad Ali shared 3rd place, whereas in 60 kg, Shanwar Mnazoor and Trish Thappa remained 1st and 2nd and in 66 kg, Vipul Yashvardhan and Madhav Singh Jamwal clinched top two positions, besides in + 66 kg, Sunny Thakur and Navjot Singh bagged top two places while in under-12 yrs (30 kg) Amrit Gupta and Shivam Verma clinched 1st and 2nd places while Ankit Singh and Avansh Sharma shared 3rd position and in 35 kg, Sibtam Shabir and Madhav won first two places while Nakash and Arush Andotra jointly secured 3rd place.
In 40 kg, Hittesh Chibber, Adeeb Imtiyaz and Gourav Singh won top three positions, whereas in 45 kg, top two positions were secured by Ridham Sharma and Daksh Dabgotra and in +45 kg, Divyansh Raina and Irfan Alam stood 1st and 2nd while Nirav Thakur and Shourya Jamwal shared 3rd position, besides in under-14 yrs (35 kg), Asfaiq Ali and Manik Sharma remained 1st and 2nd while 3rd place was shared by Adhi Verma and Mohd Asif, while in 40 kg, Aftab Khan and Mohd Imaad clinched top two positions and Dinesh Kumar and Aakrshit Jamwal shared 3rd place and in 50 kg, Danish Sajad and Tushar Sharma won first two positions while Atul Sharma and Rayan Yousaf shared 3rd position.
In +50 kg, top two positions were secured by Arihaant Mahajan and Mohd Hamid and Utkarsh Sharma and Mubarik Showkat shared 3rd position, whereas in 45 kg, Abhilove Singh, Baljeet Singh and Dhruv Angural clinched first three positions respectively, and in 70 kg, Arun Singh, Gourav Sharma and Akhil Sharma stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd, besides in 40 kg, Mukesh Singh and Raj Kumar stood 1st and 2nd.
In senior boys (60 kg), Raghav Koushal and Dalip Kumar stood 1st and 2nd while Akshay Sharma and Akhilesh Rakwal shared 3rd position, whereas in 66 kg, top two positions were clinched by Akshay Sharma and Akshay Singh while 3rd place was shared by Robin Singh and Khalid Malik and in 73 kg, Aryan Gupta and Virbhadhar Singh stood 1st and 2nd while Faisal Maqbool and Sahil Singh shared 3rd position besides in 81 kg, Rajat Singh and Tanvi Rishi clinched top two positions while Vishal Kumar and Vishwa Partap Singh jointly clinched 3rd place, while in 90 kg, Sajan Sharma and Panav Kr remained 1st and 2nd while 3rd position was shared by Vijender Singh and Owaus Hamid.
In senior men (100 kg), Farhat Gulzar and Rajesh Sumbriya stood 1st and 2nd while Suram Singh and Tariq Ahmed shared 3rd place, whereas in +100 kg, Aman Singh and Yaseen Nabi bagged top two positions whereas Gulzar Ahmed and Ishfaq Ahmed shared 3rd position and in senior women (63 kg), Mansi Devi, Rekha Devi and Meenakshi Raina stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively, whereas in 57 kg, Yashika Jamwal and Tehnees-a-Arif stood 1st and 2nd while Neha Sharma and Sonali Sharma shared 3rd place and in 48 kg, Mehira Rashid and Minakshi Thakur stood 1st and 2nd whereas in 70 kg, Deepika remained 1st .
Satish Gupta Manager MA Stadium Jammu was the chief guest, whereas Shafakat Shafi, Rameshwar Singh and Jugal Kishore were guests of honour and Vikas Gupta (Vice President Judo Federation of India, Shweta Thakur and Bhanu Pratap International Judoka were special invitees.
Bouts were officiated by J&K Sports Council coaches Suraj Bhan Singh, Arshi Nad, Vikas Dogra, Ritika Slathia, Shafkat Shafi, Jugal Kishore and Shakti Gupta.
