Usaid salvages lone battle as Kanhaiya, Henan, Ramdayal put JKCA Blue in command

JAMMU, Aug 17: Promising top-order batsman Sheikh Usaid salvaged lone battle for JKCA Orange (Kashmir Province) and scored an unbeaten half-century, while talented middle-order batter Henan Malik, promising wicketkeeper batsman Kanhaiya Wadhawan and speedster Ramdayal put JKCA Blue in commanding position after gaining a huge first innings lead in the finals of the ongoing Senior Men’s Multi-Day Cricket Tournament, being organised by Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) at Sher-e-Kashmir Cricket Stadium, Srinagar.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 207/2, JKCA Blue rode on brilliance of Kanhaiya and Henan to score a big total of 394 runs and gain a big first innings lead of 219 runs. Henan scored magnificent 62 runs, while consistent Kanhaiya contributed superb 54 runs. Abdul Samad also contributed 21 runs. Earlier, Shubham and Suryansh had struck brilliant fifties.
For JKCA Orange, medium pacers-Nasir Lone and Shahrukh Dar took 3 wickets each, while part-time leg-spinner Qamran Iqbal claimed 2 wickets.
JKCA Orange were 160/4 in their second essay, still trailing by 59 runs.
Though both the openers Qamran Iqbal (25) and Jiyaad Magray (24) gave a solid start to their second innings, but after their departure, speedster Ramdayal did the trick- removing experienced Parvez Rasool (08) and skipper Fazil Rashid (03) cheaply.
For JKCA Blue, Ramdayal took 2 important wickets, while left-arm spinner Abid Mushtaq and off-spinner Sahil Lotra claimed one wicket each.
