JAMMU, Mar 15: Vijay Goel, Union Minister for Sports honoured the Indian Men and Women teams for winning the Roll Ball World Cup held at Dhaka, recently.
Thirty nine teams in men’s section, while 27 teams in women’s section had participated in the World Cup.
The Minister while lauding the performance of Indian Team announced cash incentives for the players for bringing laurels to the country.
The Minister assured the office bearers of Roll Ball Association of India for taking initiatives with regard to promotion of this game in nooks and corners of the Country.
Mr Goel lavished praise for Jammu boy Hiteshwar Singh, who was amongst the star performers for India in this prestigious Championship.
It is pertinent to mention here that Hiteshwar preferred to play in the final match despite injury and helped India win with a last minute goal in the summit clash against Iran.
