SRINAGAR, Aug 16: Umer Nabi and Amir Assad, the top cyclists of Kashmir valley today reached Pangong after crossing World’s 3rd highest motorable pass ‘Changla’, which is at 17688 ft.
It is for the first time when any Kashmiri cyclists rode through these high altitude mountains of Leh.
They started ride on August 14 at 4:45 am from Leh and reached Changla at 10 am on the same day and then rode towards Tangtase, Durbuk, Lukung and Pangong Lake. After 2 hours, the riders again rode towards Tangtase where they stayed for a night and on August 1, the riders rode at 5 am in the morning towards Leh, a distance of around 300 kilometers.
“It was a big challenge for us to ride high altitude distance. Thanks to Allah that we both are safe,” said one of the riders, Umer Nabi.
He also thanked cycling expert, Riyaz Wani and adventure expert, Rouf Tramboo and Nasir Shah, president Luxury Holiday CNE.
