Udhampur Club lifts District Handball C’ship title

UDHAMPUR, Mar 1: Udhampur Handball Club defeated Mini Stadium Handball Club by 21-12 and lifted the title of the District Handball Championship, played at Subash Stadium here today.
In the championship, APS Udhampur Handball Club secured third position.
On the closing ceremony, Mohammad Syed Khan, Additional District Development Commissioner was the chief guest, whereas Narinder Mahajan President J&K Handball Association was the guest of honour.
While speaking, the chief guest highlighted the importance of the sports. He asked the youth to participate in the sports activities to keep their body mentally and physically fit.
Among other present were Ashwani Kumar Raina Executive Member (International Player), Sandeep Verma PRO Handball Federation of India, Sanjwav Jamwal Executive Member J&K Handball Association, Vikram Slathia Acting President, Sunil Slathia Vice President Badminton Association, Jugal Kishore Incharge Manager Subash Stadium Udhampur, Sanjay Sharma, Arun Gupta, Naveen Sharma, Balbir Singh and large number of sports persons.
The matches were officiated by Ravi Singh Raju, Arun, Arushi Sharma and Ishdeep Kour, whereas the stage proceedings were conducted by Bhopinder Singh.
