Udhampur boys emerge champions in U-19 Badminton Tournament

SRINAGAR, Aug 23: District Udhampur defeated District Jammu convincingly in the summit clash to win the title trophy in the State Level Inter-District Badminton Championship, while District Srinagar claimed Under-14 and Under-17 boys titles, here today.
The Tournament was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, under the patronage its Director General, Jehangir Mir and under the supervision of Balbir Singh, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Srinagar.
Deputy Director Youth Services and Sports (Central), Haji Mirza was the the chief guest on the concluding ceremony, who distributed prizes among the winners and runners-up teams occasion.
Earlier, Under-14 boys final, District Srinagar thrashed District Budgam in both singles and doubles by (21-11, 21-15) and (21-19,21-19) respectively.
In Under-17 boys final, District Srinagar defeated District Udhampur in an easy contest. In singles, Srinagar trounced Udhampur by (21-7, 21-11) and in doubles, Srinagar got better of Udhampur by (21-8, 21-9).
Meanwhile, Under-19 boys final, Udhampur defeated Jammu by (21-12, 21-15) in singles and in doubles, Udhampur prevailed over Jammu by (21-12, 21-15).
