RAMBAN, Aug 23: The inaugural match of Ramban Cricket League 2015, organized by Rashtriya Rifles Battalion under Delta Force was played here at the Ramban Police ground between Charil Cricket Club and Ramsoo Cricket Club, today.
In a 16-over match, Charil Cricket Club scored an emphatic victory by scoring 143 runs, while Ramsoo Cricket Club was bowled out for 86 runs.
This is the biggest sporting event of 2015 being conducted in Ramban district and is received by the locals with great enthusiasm.
Around 36 teams from different areas of the district contested during the qualification round, out of which 16 teams qualified for the Ramban Cricket League.
The tournament is part of the continued efforts by Delta Force to exult the passion for sports amongst the youth especially after the successful conduct of Banihal Cricket tournament last year.
The final match of the tournament will be held on September 7, 2015.
This initiative by Delta Force to motivate the youth and the concerted efforts in promoting the culture of sports was appreciated by local and civil administration.
