JAMMU, Apr 30: An Inter-School Drawing and Painting Competition on ‘Save Environment’ was organised by UCMAS Abacus at Gho Mahnasa, here today.
Over 700 students and parents of various schools of Gho Mahnasa and Marh blocks participated in this Competition.
The participating Schools included Shiv Public School, Sai Shyam School, Sarvodhya Public School, Lord Shiva HSS, Indira Memorial HSS, Shakti Shiksha Kendra, Playway HS, Secular Acedamy, Nav Parbhat Shishu Vidhya, Rose Garden,Pamposh Hss, Krishna National Hss, Spring Dales , Kailash Niketan,New Kiran Academy,Adarsh Durga School, Abhinav Shiksha Kendra, New Generation School, NG Public, Mount Litera School, SOS Herman Gremeiner and GD Goenka School.
Parents accompanying kids were welcomed by UCMAS J&K Director, Rupesh Masson. UCMAS Gho Manahasa, Princy Bansal briefed about this campaign & International recognition & afflation as well as benefit of Abacus program for kids.
Parents competed with their smart phone calculators with small kids of UCMAS- trying to figure out answers of difficult arithmetic sums, parents were amazed by the speed & accuracy with which the ucmas kids were able to answer math / arithmetic questions faster than calculator.
Sukhnandan Choudhary, MLA was the chief guest on the occasion, while Sonam Dolkar ZEO (Marh Block) and Lal Chand Gandotra were the special guest on the occasion.
Prominent citizens present on occasion were Ravinder Koul, Arun Gupta, Sarpanchs of Marh Block.
Meenakshi art teacher from KCIS was the judge for painting competition.
Winners in A category included Saurav Saini (1st), Aarushi (2nd) and Palkin Manhas (3rd).
Category B: 1st Gautam, 2nd Aryan, 3rd Arman
Category C: 1st Danshu Sharma, 2nd Anuradha Rajput,3rd Isha Paul
The Consolation prizes went to Bhavishya, Mahi, Mannat, Komal, Aryan, Vanshika Sharma, Harmeet Kour, Gurpreet, Mahi Bhagat, Sahil, Vanshika Sharma, Harmeet Kour, Gurpreet, Mahi Bhagat and Sahi.l.
UCMAS Abacus J&K team which attended the event included Rashmi Aggarwal, Laxmideep Gupta, Ankur Bansal, Arti Khajuria, Mamta Sharma, Monika, Harvinder and Shriyank.
