JAMMU, Apr 4: Jammu & Kashmir Under-19 Tennis Cricket teams were ceremonially flagged off today for the upcoming National Tennis Cricket Championship, scheduled to be held in Lucknow from April 5 to 8.
The flag-off ceremony was held at Makoons Pre School, Talab Tillo, Jammu, where founder and chairman of Nirbhay Bharat Foundation, Tarun Uppal, and CEO of Makoons Pre School, Abhishek Luthra, extended their best wishes to the young players. The dignitaries also distributed team jerseys, marking the formal send-off for the championship.
Addressing the gathering, Tarun Uppal emphasized the importance of sports in shaping character and guiding youth towards a positive path. He encouraged the players to stay disciplined and focused, stating that sports can open doors to brighter opportunities while keeping them away from negative influences. He urged the athletes to perform with passion and uphold the pride of Jammu & Kashmir.
This year, the Union Territory is being represented by two teams. Team Jammu Capitals, coached by Ajay Kumar and managed by Garima, will be led by Captain Raghav and Vice-Captain Krishna. The second side, Team J&K, is coached by Sunil Kumar and managed by Ishika Jandiyal, with Nitin as Captain and Sharon as Vice-Captain.
The championship will bring together young talents from across the country, offering them an opportunity to showcase their skills and promote sportsmanship and competitive spirit.
