Tri-Series Tournament gets underway

JAMMU, Apr 21: Tri-Series Tournament organized by GS Sports Club in loving memory of Shaheed Subedar Karnail Singh got underway here today.
The tournament was inaugurated by SP HQ KPS Farroq Qaiser as the chief guest and SDPO Sourabh Prasher as the guest of honour.
SHO Rattan Singh Rana, JCC Secretary Gaurav Gupta and Gagan Bhatia were the special guests.
Founder Cum Chairman Nations Development Association Kr Sushil Singh Charak and President GS Sports Club Sushant Gupta and Deepak Sharma welcomed the guests in the opening ceremony.
The opening match was played between SEK and BCC, in which former emerged winner by 6 wickets and Deepak Sharma got the man of the match award.
SEK won the toss and choose to bat first & set the target of 107 in 20 overs. Aaqib top scored with 47 runs. Sahil and Harry took 3 wickets each.
BCC chased the target in 10 overs. Harry top scored with 54 runs, while Rishav contributed 22 runs. Vikas and Shallu took 1 wicket each.
SP HQ while addressing the gathering gave strong message against the menace of drugs prevalent in the society.
He motivated the audience to stand strongly against the use of drugs and concentrate on their education, sports activities and religious programmes organized in the area.
He also asked the sportspersons, youth and students to promote local sports like Wrestling, Kabbadi and other rural sports so that maximum people are involved in sporting activities.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Gagan Bhatia, Sushant Gupta, Sushil Singh Charak, Deepak Sharma, Ashwani Kumar, Romesh Kumar and Amit.
