Three J&K players selected for Uttar Pradesh Pro Volleyball League 2025

JAMMU, July 4: In a major boost to sports in the Union Territory, three volleyball players from Jammu and Kashmir have been selected for the Uttar Pradesh Pro Volleyball League 2025. The selected players are Saqlain Tariq from Poonch, Mannat Choudhary from RS Pura (Jammu) and Shadab Shamim from Anantnag.
As per reports, Mannat Choudhary is currently a trainee at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Training Centre in Jammu, while Saqlain Tariq and Shadab Shamim are former trainees of the same centre.
This achievement marks a proud moment for the region, highlighting the growing talent and potential of J&K’s youth in national-level competitions. The players will compete in the upcoming league, which is expected to kick off next month.
The tournament will feature eight teams: Mathura Yodhas, Muzaffarnagar Lions, Kashi Warriors, Gorakhpur Giants, Moradabad Bulls, Ayodhya Super Kings, Noida Thunders and Lucknow Tigers.
Their selection has been widely appreciated by the sports community and is expected to inspire more young athletes across the region to pursue volleyball professionally.
