Tacharwan Tigers, Jourian Warriors script wins

JAMMU, June 26: Tacharwan Tigers defeated Friends Cricket Club Khour by 2 wickets, while Jourian Warriors trounced Friends Cricket Club Jammu by 10 wickets in the ongoing 1st Anil Malhotra Memorial Knockout Cricket Tournament, being played at Govt Higher Secondary School Akhnoor, near here today.
In the first match, Friends CC Khour won the toss and decided to bat first. Batting first, FCC scored 169 runs on the fall of 9 wickets in stipulated 20 overs in which Dinesh Mahajan made 51 runs, while Mohit Bhau scored 33 runs and Rohan Mehra and Lakhwinder Bhau contributed 20 and 16 runs respectively. From the bowling side, Manpreet Singh and Mukesh Sharma shared 3 wickets each and Pankaj Sharma, Rakesh Kumar and Abhi Verma clinched one wicket each.
In reply, Tacharwan Tigers chased the target of 170 runs by losing 8 wickets in 18.4 overs wherein Abhi Verma made 41 runs, while Manpreet Singh scored 37 runs and Rishav Sharma contributed 24 runs. From the bowling side, Raghuraj Bhau got 4 wickets, while Lucky took 2 wickets and Dinesh Mahajan and Lakhwinder Bhau shared 1 wicket each. Manpreet Singh was declared as man of the match.
In 2nd match, Jourian Warriors beat Friends CC.
Batting first, Friends Cricket Club Jammu bundled out at 99 runs in 14.2 overs, wherein Aman made 29 runs, while Vikas scored 21 runs. From the bowlding side, Randeep Singh got 4 wickets, while Sandeep and Vansh took 3 and 2 wickets respectively and Ritik clinched one wicket.
In reply, Jourian Warriors easily chased the target in 9.1 overs without losing any wickets and registered 10 wickets win over their opponents. Anil Choudhary made highest 45 runs, while Sagar contributed 44 runs. Randeep Singh was adjudged as man of the match award.
Vikas Bali and Abhitash Sharma were the umpires, while as Dev Bhagel acted as the scorer of the tournament.
Lt Colonel SK Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. The tournament is being organized by Shub Tilak Hospital Akhnoor in collaboration with Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor under the overall supervision of Sham Singh Langeh (President Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor) and Suresh Malhotra (Organizing Secretary).
