POONCH, Feb 27: With an aim to promote communal harmony in the region, District Police Poonch today organized a symposium, under Civic Action Programme at Government Degree College, Surankote, here today.
The topic of the symposium was ‘Role of Youth Imperative for Communal Harmony and National Integration’.
10 students of Government Degree College Surankote participated in the event, wherein Irshad Ahmed of BA Part-I, Syed Waseem Ul Haq of BA Part-II and Nazi Choudhary of BA Part-II bagged first, second and third position respectively.
Amit Gupta, Additional SP Poonch was the chief guest on the occasion who distributed prizes among the winners on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest exhorted upon the youth to contribute positively in the society as to eradicate social evils, crimes, untouchability and communalism.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Ajay Sharma, Dr Ghulam Ahmed Malik, Nazir Qureshi, Tariq Manhas and Khushdev Verma.
