SRINAGAR, Sept 21: Syed Tajuddin FC thrashed Fortview FC by 4 goals to nil, whereas match between Court Road FC and Jhelum Sports FC remained 1:1 draw in the ongoing Super Division League, being played at Synthetic Turf TRC, here today.
The first match was played between Court Road FC and Jhelum Sports FC. Both the teams displayed quality Football and mesmerised the spectators. However, both the teams tried hard to take initially goal but failed to do so in the first half. The 2nd half like the first also proved to be nail biting as no team was ready to give even an inch to the opposite side. In 53rd minute of the match, Mehraj Ahmad of Jehlum Sports got an opportunity and scored 1st goal for his team, while Court Road FC equalised the score through Ateeb and the match ended with 1:1 draw.
The 2nd match was played between Fortview FC & Syed Tajuddin FC. The Syed Tajuddin FC dominated the play right from the start of the match and gave no chances to helpless defenders of the Fortview FC. Sanjeev opened the account for Syed Tajuddin FC in just 9th minute of the play and Waris doubled the lead in 23rd minute.
The second half was no different as Syed Tajuddin FC kept attacking the goal post of Fortview FC. In 64th minute of the play Shoib made it 3-0 in favour of the Syed Tajuddin FC and just five minutes later Faisal scored the fourth goal for the winning team. Fortview FC players tried their best to stop the Syed Tajuddin FC forwards but failed to do so.
Meanwhile, in the ongoing ‘A’ Division matches, two matches were played at Gindun Ground Rajbagh wherein Haroon FC beat Towheed FC Anchar by 4 goals to 1. Salman, Faizan, Burhan and Soban were the scorers for Haroon FC, whereas Umer Habib was the scorer for Towheed FC Anchar.
The 2nd match between Blossom FC and Majeed Bagh FC remained goalless draw as both the teams have been failed to find the net in stipulated time frame.
The tournaments are being organised by J&K Football Association in collaboration with J&K Sports Council.
