JAMMU, Oct 13: To encourage the young swimmers to raise their standard of performance at competitive level, a Swimming Competition was organized at KC Sports Club today in different age groups.
To accommodate as many swimmers as possible, heats were conducted to select the best swimmers on time basis. Finally, the best of them vied with each other for the position of the winner.
In Freestyle 20 meters of swimming under 17 to 30 age category, Mohit Bhandari grabbed the first position where as Saurabh Gupta stood second and Pankaj grabbed third position.
In Breast Stroke of 20 meters in 17 to 30 age category, Mohit Bhandari grabbed the first position where as Saurabh Gupta stood second and Tushar Jandial grabbed third position.
In under 30 to 50 age category of Freestyle 20 meter of swimming, Sourah, Nitesh and Kirti Bhat grabbed the first, second and third positions respectively. In breast stroke of 20 meter swimming in 30 to 50 age category, Sourabh, Nitesh, Vijay Sharma claimed first, second and third position respectively.
In Freestyle 40 meters in 17 to 30 age category, Mohit Bhandari grabbed the first position whereas Saurabh Gupta stood second and Tushar Jandial claimed third position.
In freestyle of above 60 years, Sunil Bhandari stood first, Anil and Suraj claimed second and third positions respectively.
The medals were given to winners by Lt Col Monisha Sharon, Commanding Officer, NCC 2nd Battalion, J&K.
