JAMMU, June 26: Stylish southpaw Suryansh Raina and promising batter Yawar Ayub slammed cracking centuries, while experienced Parvez Rasool, explosive Abdul Samad, gutsy Adil Reshi sparkled to guide their sides to convincing victories over their rivals in the ongoing JKCA’s Senior Men’s One-Day Tournament, being played at four different venues across the Union Territory.
The performances of Ishtiyaq Rasool, Henan Malik, Sahil Lotra and Abid Mushtaq were also good to watch on Day-2 of the tournament today.
At GGM Science College Hostel Ground, JKCA A3 thrashed JKCA A5 in an easy contest by 67 runs.
Batting first, JKCA Team A3 scored a big total of 312 runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Yawar Ayub scored magnificent 112 runs, while Abdul Samad contributed power-packed unbeaten 76 runs and Jatin Wadhawan made valuable 45 runs. For JKCA A5, Nikhil took all the 3 wickets to fall.
In reply, JKCA A5 scored 245 runs, thus lost the match by 67 runs. Henan Malik top scored with 74 runs, while Sunil Kumar contributed 37 runs to the total.
For JKCA A5, Ritik Singh was the pick of the bowlers who captured 5 important wickets, while skipper Abdul Samad claimed 2 wickets.
At Country Cricket Stadium Gharota, JKCA A4 defeated JKCA A1 by a big margin of 150 runs.
Batting first, A4 scored a good total of 266 runs. Skipper Suryansh Raina top scored with 122 runs, while Akash Choudhary contributed 46 runs to the toral. For A1, Sunil Kumar and Abid Mushtaq took 3 wickets each.
JKCA A1, in reply, bundled out for 116 runs, thus lost the match by a big margin of 150 runs. Abid Mushtaq and Shubham Pundir contributed 33 and 31 runs to the total respectively.
For bowling side, Sahil Lotra took 4 wickets, while Kulvinder claimed 2 wickets.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium-A, JKCA B3 defeated B2 by 7 wickets.
Batting first, JKCA B2 scored 153 runs. Asif Khan top scored with 62 runs, while Abid Khan contributed 26 runs to the total. For JKCA B3, Tahir Bhat and Kalyan Dorje took 3 wickets each.
In reply, JKCA B3 chased the target by losing 3 wickets to win the match by 7 wickets. Adil Reshi top scored with unbeaten 95 runs, while Ishtiaq Ellahi contributed 34 runs.
For B2, Nasir Lone took 1 wickket.
At Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium-B, JKCA B1 drubbed B5 in an easy contest by 5 wickets.
Batting first, JKCA B5 scored 243 runs. Ishtiyaq Rasool top scored with 73 runs, while Umer Nisar contributed 65 runs to the total. For JKCA B1, skipper Parvez Rasool was the pick of the bowlers, who took 4 wickets, while Tauqueer claimed 3 wickets.
In reply, JKCA B1 chased the target easily by losing 5 wickets. Parvez Rasool played a brilliant innings of unbeaten 69 runs, while Sufiyan Wani contributed valuable 60 runs to the total.
For B5, Amir Aziz and Mujtaba Rizvi took 2 wickets each.
