JAMMU, June 8: Drubbing Madhav Sharma in a keenly contested game by 11-09, 06-11, 11-09, 11-07, Udhampur boy Surabh Sharma won the Sub Junior boys singles final in the ongoing 3rd Stag Jammu Open Table Tennis Championship, organised by Jammu Stag TT Academy, here today.
Earlier, in the semifinals, Surabh defeated Rohan Langar 3-1 while Madhav got the better of Akhilesh 3-2 in a tough contest.
Today’s final was witnessed besides others by former international player, Satbir Singh, Maninder Singh and IP Singh as also Sanjeev Bhandari and Sanjay Langar.
In under-12 Cadet group, Aryan Gupta won the boys final beating G. Singh 3-0 (11-09, 12-10, 12-10) while girls title bagged by Ragini Gupta, who defeated Hargun Kour 3-1 (11-07, 08-11, 11-06, 11-05).
The competition is being held under the supervision of Ramesh Magotra, Gurvinder Singh and Sandeep.
