JAMMU, Nov 20: Minister of State for Sports, Sunil Sharma assured the cueists that he will provide all possible help to them for raising infrastructural facilities in this sport at MA Stadium.
He said this during the prize distribution ceremony of State Senior Billiards and Snooker Championship at Billiards Hall, here today.
Mr Sharma lavished praise on the organizers for holding this event and said that sports serves for delight, for ornament and for agility.
Suresh Chug, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests/Chief Wildlife Warden was the special guest.
Earlier, in the Senior Snooker final, Younis Kuchay defeated Mudasir (4-0) by 58-55, 71-47, 57-17, 67-63 to win the title.
In Senior Billiards final, Sohail Khalid had emerged winner earlier in the tournament, beating Nikhil Kapahi in the final.
In Junior Billiards, Basit Wani emerged winner, while Ansh Chopra remained runners-up, while in Junior Snooker, Arjun Singh was the winner and Vipin Malhi the runners-up.
In Sub Junior Billiards, Ansh Chopra and Sanand Sharma were the winners and runners-up respectively, while in Sub Junior Snooker, Ansh Chopra won the title and Vasu Gupta was the runners-up.
The Championship was organized under the supervision of the office bearers of J&K Billiards and Snooker Association including Chairman Sidharth Sharma, President Sanjeev Gupta, Sr Vice President Jaideep Manocha, Vice President Jammu Nikhil Kapahi, Vice President Srinagar Umar Humanyun and General Secretary Vishal Abrol.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were Rajan Sharma, Satish Gupta, Sunny Wahi, Arun Gulati, Ajay Sharma, Mukesh Sharma and Sunil.
