AKHNOOR, July 2: Little Flower High School Akhnoor defeated Roman Rangers Akhnoor by 7 wickets in the Summer Cup T20 U-19 Cricket Tournament, which got underway at Govt Higher Secondary School, here today.
The Tournament is being organized by Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, under the overall supervision of its president, Sham Singh Langeh.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Roman Rangers Akhnoor bundled out for a paltry total of 72 runs in 18 overs. Parveen top scored with 35 runs off 36 balls, while Surya chipped in with 11 runs. From Little Flower School, Amit Mangotra was the pick of the bowlers who took 4 important wickets, while Manik bagged 3 wickets. Rohit and Aryan shared 1 wicket each.
In reply, Little Flower High School Akhnoor made 75/3 in 11.1 overs, thus won the match by 7 wickets. Sugam Verma and Raman Sharma contributed 21 runs each, while Rohit contributed 14 runs to the total. From Roman Rangers Akhnoor, Parveen, Sagar and Yuvraj shared 1 wicket each. Amit Magotra was declared as the man of the match.
Arun Kumar and Deepak Mangotra were the umpires, while Vaasu was the scorer.
Earlier, Sham Singh Langeh inaugurated the tournament in an impressive and well attended function.
