JAMMU, Mar 27: The Minister for PHE and I & FC, Sukhnandan Choudhary today inaugurated the “Lawyers Annual Sports Meet 2015” Cricket Tournament organized by J&K High Court Bar Association Jammu at Jammu University ground, here.
The Minister was also chief guest on the occasion.
The 10-day Cricket Tournament started here today in which 12 teams of Lawyers are participating in 4 pools, with each pool containing 3 teams. Top two teams will go to the next round of quarterfinals.
On the occasion, Minister appreciated the efforts of association for organizing such tournament.
Earlier, the Minister interacted with the players of both the teams and wished them good luck.
The inaugural match of the tournament was played between the Strikers XI and Fire XI.
President of Bar Association, Abhinav Sharma put forth his demands before the Minister which included allotment of funds to the Bar Association Jammu and up-gradation of infrastructure for lawyers. The Minister assured them to redress their demands on priority.
Meanwhile, to facilitate the problem of clean drinking water of Lawyers, the Minister announced two RO fitted water coolers for District Court Complex, Jammu.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Senior Advocates, D C Raina, U K Jalali, K K Malhotra and Sunil Sethi.
